New guidance for the implementation of land release

The IMAS Review Board has published Technical Note for Mine Action 07.11.04, providing new guidance on implementing land release.

Developed following the publication of the second edition of IMAS 07.11 Land Release earlier this year, the guidance explains how to assess evidence and apply criteria to support land release decisions.

It helps national mine action authorities and mine action organizations make consistent, transparent and well-founded decisions on releasing suspected or confirmed hazardous areas through cancellation, reduction or clearance.
