The IMAS Review Board has approved updated IEDD copentency standards.
A second edition of the Test and Evaluation Protocol 09.31.01/2019 on Improvised Explosive Devise Disposal (IEDD) Competency Standards, is now available in English (click here)
Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) competency standards have been developed at the request of mine action stakeholders, and in response to needs identified in the field. IEDD is a subset of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). The aim of this document is therefore to build upon the competencies already outlined for EOD in a mine action context as defined in T&EP 09.30/01/2022.
The competency requirements found herein relate specifically to IEDD operations that are conducted in mine action contexts. It does not provide specific technical guidance for the disposal of any particular type of Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
