UNMAS requested the GICHD to establish an electronic database of accidents and incidents involving field employees at the workplace. GICHD has designed the Reporting, Analysis, and Prevention of Incidents in Demining (RAPID) database, based on the Information Management System for Mine Action Next Generation (IMSMA NG).
RAPID’s main purpose is to lead to work practice changes and the development of safer tools and protective equipment in order to prevent future accidents. In its comprehensive and institutionalized approach it is unique, and different from existing databases.
GICHD manages this database and requests cooperation from all programmes, and, where applicable, the demining organisations, to report their accidents/incidents information to the GICHD using the IMSMA Remote Entry (IMSMA-RE).
To download the package containing the data entry software and additional information (installation instructions, IMSMA-RE, incident, casualty forms and help files), please click on the Data entry package link on the upper right of this page.
IMSMA-RE should be used to record and report any future demining accidents/incidents. To report any past data efficiently, programmes/organization should contact the GICHD at the e-mail adress below for professional advice specific to each programme/organization.
If you have any questions, require more information on the project, please do not hesitate to contact us at rapid(at)gichd.org.
